Champagne Fleur Lanoire

Four cuvées, from the meeting of a family in Champagne and one in Piedmont.

The maison

Two families, one maison.

Champagne Fleur Lanoire was born of the meeting between two families and two ways of making wine. The Gruets have been making Champagne at Bethon since 1952, the year Gilbert Gruet and his wife Danielle founded the family house Paul Laurent, carried on today by the third generation.

The Fias have tended vineyards in Piedmont for five generations, since 1896, across the Langhe, the Monferrato, the Roero and the Tortonese, with every stage looked after by the family.

The first disgorgement of the new era was in 2021. From there the collection grew to today's four cuvées, each built around a different idea of the same style: the blend of the three Reims grape varieties, Chardonnay on its own, Pinot Noir vinified as a rosé, and a vintage left ten years on the lees.

Certification

Sustainable Viticulture and High Environmental Value, level 3

The certification covers all of the maison's viticulture, with the goal of reaching vintages entirely at High Environmental Value. Environmental and social sustainability are the founding values of the project.

The place

On the chalk of the Montagne.

Fleur Lanoire comes to life in the Aubois vineyard, on the slopes of the Montagne de Reims. Chalky soils and a cool climate: the vine ripens slowly and the grapes arrive full of aromatic precision. From there come the fine minerality and the delicate bubble found in all four cuvées.

Reims is one of the capitals of Champagne, and the three grape varieties of the appellation, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, find here the conditions they look for.

Beneath the city runs a labyrinth of ancient chalk quarries, the crayères: over two hundred kilometres of galleries dug since Roman times, at constant temperature and natural humidity. It is where Champagne has always rested.

The collection

One blend, three single varieties.

From the blend of the three Reims grape varieties to the vintage left ten years on the lees.

Première Édition

Cuvée Prestige

Born in the Aubois vineyards, on the slopes of the Montagne de Reims, where chalky soils give fine minerality and a delicate bubble. Cuvée du Fondateur

Blanc de Blancs

Chardonnay on its own, from the chalky soils that shape the landscape of Reims. It is the geology that gives vibrant freshness, crystalline structure and the subtle minerality holding up the notes of white flowers and citrus. ‘Cuvée du Fondateur’ pays homage to the first grape variety cultivated and vinified by the maison: clear, precise, elegant.

Première Édition

Rosé de Noir

Pinot Noir on its own, vinified as a rosé. The pale colour and copper reflections announce intense aromas of small red berries and citrus, and the fine perlage carries a fresh, soft palate. It comes from particularly well-suited parcels of the Montagne de Reims, and it is the cuvée that seduces through immediacy and holds through balance.

Delicate pale pink with copper reflections and a fine, persistent perlage
Aroma
Refined and complex bouquet with notes of small red berries, pomegranate and citrus peel, enriched by hints of bread crust and subtle minerality

P1 Blanc de Blancs

Millésime 2015

Chardonnay from a single vintage, 2015, left ten years on the lees. Complex aromas of candied citrus, dried fruit and pastry, over a silky, deep texture, with the persistent, harmonious finish that only that much time can give. The P1 designation, Plénitude 1, marks the full maturity reached after ageing. It is the most contemplative expression of the maison's style.

Bright golden yellow with amber reflections and a very fine, persistent perlage
Aroma
Deep and complex bouquet with notes of candied citrus, toasted hazelnut, acacia honey and hints of bread crust, over an elegant mineral background
Palate
Silky and full, balancing freshness and structure. The long ageing brings creaminess, intensity and exceptional persistence, with a savoury, harmonious finish
Ageing
120 months on the lees before disgorgement
Serving
9-11 °C. Ideal with shellfish, fish in butter, scallops or delicate risottos

Substance and method

Blend, time, perlage.

Every cuvée begins with a blend decided in advance and a long ageing: first the contact on the lees, then further months in bottle after disgorgement, the ones that bring aromas and structure back together. It is the step that decides the fineness of the perlage, and the only one that cannot be hurried.

The collection is bottled in 75 cl format. For distribution, packaging is 80 cases of six bottles per pallet.
